Seing Beyond the Canvas

Some days it is about taking a stand for what you believe in. (Please read previous post.) Some days it is not about getting off early to be on time to an art meeting or just having a little extra time for yourself. Some days it is about getting caught in a storm, staying inside a place where you are safe, seeing an old friend and discussing his family health issues not your's. Its about lending a shoulder and an ear. Some days it is about keeping all your ill friends on your mind, in your heart and in your prayers constantly. I seem to do this more now. It is about being where you are meant to be doing what the Lord needs you to do.

Life is not about always making money. Take Market Days this past Saturday... I did not sell anything, but I saw lots of people and people saw my art. Someone took one of my bio sheets so she hopefully she may contact me later. It was about seeing old friends and new ones. It was about discussing ways of helping ill friends who have no family in town. I see needs everywhere especially needs for the elderly. I wish I could do more, but I have my own family needs that must be met first and far most.

It was about sharing ideas, helping, advising or receiving good advice by someone far more successful than I am. It was about being thankful for another good day and my every blessings. It was about taking what I have learned and sharing it with others. Cindy, the other abstract artist taught me how to save left over paint and make art with it. Thank you, Cindy! I was finally able to do this on a small scale; the smallest size canvas and it worked well. This one is wanted by my mom so that will be one of her birthday presents. It will be future gifts for others as well. I was able to use this techniques in the upcoming VBS art work at our church I am working on with my BFF church friend Nancy. So I am creating art for the Lord, others and myself. I created a lot of art this week. It is about being in awe of my God given talents and being ever so thankful for them. It is about wanting to collaborate with other willing artists. It is about seeing beyond the canvas. Love those words! It would make a great blog name, but it is already taken or the name for Cindy, Ms June and myself, the 3 Artkateers of the PC Arts. What do you think of that, ladies? LOL

It was about doing what is needed of you. The end of of this week was also about getting an very uncalled for flat tire last Sunday night! But thankfully it wasn't as big of a blow out as it sounded. I wasn't going fast. I could pull off into a well lit area and Don could change it for me. It could have been a lot worse. So I am thankful to still be here writing and sending this to you now. I am thankful I can continue onward being there for everyone who needs me, brightening your days with my funny, long, wordy emails and blog posts as well as sharing my art and photography. I hope I will be able to do this for a long, long time.

Happy Memorial Day!

I was thinking I should have saved this post for TT when I wrote it so I decided to use it today. I've been blessed with another good week for which I am thankful for despite the flat tire, Daddy's gas guzzling SUV which makes me want a small economical car that will run on our garbage or plug into a socket. But what if we didn't have enough garbage for it to run? Or our electric bill skyrocketd into the thousands of dollars? Or it ran out of juice? Scarey thought. LOL

This week I am ever thankful for the art I made last weekend. I finally uploaded some pics Monday night, but only got half way done. I printed pictures and shared them with our preacher, a fellow art lover. I told him I love sharing color with others. I will share more with other artist tonight at the art meeting. Thank goodness I can get prints for 7 cents each at Wolf camera on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. That is the only way I can afford them. I am not fond of Wolf's machines as I still prefer the old Kodak picture makers where I can crop them better. So once again my art makes me happy. I am so thankful for this outlet; this hobby; this love of mine. It is my passion. What are you passionate about?

I am thankful for the wonderful feedback I received this week. One friend said, "Do you know how inspiring you are?" I am so glad I can be an inspiration to others. I hope to always be that.

My church friend Nancy & I really overworked ourself hard trying to get ready for VBS, staying really late. She worked me like a Hebrew slave! LOL By Saturday, we both were too tired to go in to work on it. Sometimes it is about knowing your limitations. It is about knowing when to stop and rest before you kill yourself or make yourself sick. I know I tend to push myself beyond my limits.

I have been remiss in my quotes for some time nowbut I have 3 I'd like to share with you today....

"Some days you give more than you receive, but keep on giving!"

Art washes away from the soul the dust of every day life.

So much art to do, so little time.

Hi Becky,

Thanks for this lovely post. You surely is an inspiration to me! So glad to read of the many wonderful ways God has been blessing you and also how He is making you a great blessing to others. This is one joy we have as a child of God.

I like what you said about taking what we have learned and sharing it with others. This is such a privilege and wonderful thing to do. It's really amazing that you could save left over paint and make art with it, and give it to family and friends as gifts. Wow, this is such a wonderful ways to share with others! I pray those who receive these gifts from you will be greatly encouraged. May God continue to make you a blessing to others in the various ways He has gifted you!

Thanks again for visiting me and your encouragements. You are always very encouraging and I thank God for your friendship and kindness to me :) Take care and have a very blessed weekend!

Warm regards,
Nancie

Well, thank YOU, Nancie for what you wrote. I guess I don't see myself as a blessing to others but it is nice to know that I am. May I always be. I love sharing if you can't tell by now. I have to credit my abstract artist friend Cindy with the idea for the left over paint. I hope I am always an encouragement to others just as you are to me. So my prayer today is that Lord will let me continute to be a blessing and encouragement to others. I thank you for the same things you thank me for and more.
