I took this
cutie a few weeks ago. I thought it was one single leaf left on a bare tree limb until the next time I noticed it, it was still hanging on for dear life! I went over to inspect it up close and personal only to find this
cocoon. I loved the beautiful azure sky as the background. I was going to submit it as a
Sky Watch Friday post, but decided to use it here for ABC Wednesday
C is for...
cocoon instead.
Yes, it works very well for a c word, and the blue sky just enhances the photo. I wonder what will emerge in the spring.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great shot.....
ReplyDeleteNeat catch! Glad you took a 2nd look.
ReplyDeleteHi Janie! I like the word you used: "enhances". After I took the photo, the cocoon disappeared so I will never know what it was. I think someone saw me take the pic then took it. We do have a lot of escapees from the Butterfly center at Callaway Gardens. Thanks Neva and Paulie. Yes, I am glad I took a 2nd look esp since it is no longer there.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo...and a good choice for C...the only cocoon I've seen...beautiful blue sky also....
ReplyDeleteBut what is it? It looks quite big - too big for a caterpillar!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carol. I believe it is the only cocoon I have see too. Yes, I agree... the sky IS beautiful. I am not sure what it is either, Jay. I zoomed in on it so that may have made it look even bigger. Sadly, it is no longer there so I will never know what it was.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful find! What a shame it disappeared like that - you'll always wonder...
